CalibRank ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at calibrank.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform.
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and username via Google OAuth or email login. We do not store your password — authentication is handled by our identity provider (Supabase Auth).
User-generated content: Arguments, votes, debate requests, and other content you submit on the platform.
Device fingerprints: For guest users who vote without an account, we generate a browser fingerprint to prevent duplicate voting. This fingerprint is not linked to your identity.
Payment information: If you purchase Titan Premium, payment is processed by a third-party provider. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive only a transaction record (purchase confirmation, email, and tier status).
Usage data: We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with the platform (pageviews, feature usage). This data is used solely to improve CalibRank.
Error data: We use Sentry for error tracking to identify and fix bugs. Error reports may include technical information about your browser and device.
Arguments you submit are processed by AI models for toxicity filtering and quality scoring. This processing is essential to the core function of CalibRank. AI-generated scores, breakdowns, and highlights are stored alongside your arguments. We do not use your content to train AI models.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
Arguments, usernames, scores, and badges are publicly visible on the platform. Your email address is never displayed publicly. If you participate as a guest, your arguments appear as "Anonymous Heckler" with no identifying information.
Arenas are public category containers (e.g. Tech, Sports, Science). Debates within arenas are publicly visible and indexed by search engines. Arguments, scores, and usernames in arena debates are treated the same as any other public content on the platform.
Private Rooms are invite-only debate spaces. Arguments and scores within a room are visible only to room members. Room member lists (usernames and roles) are visible to other members of the same room. Your email address is used to match invitations but is not displayed to other room members.
Room admins can view member email addresses that were uploaded via CSV invitation. Room activity (arguments, votes, scores) is isolated from the public platform and does not appear in public feeds, the global leaderboard, or search engine results.
The Crucible is a quarterly public competition. Arguments submitted during a Crucible are public and visible to all users, just like other public arena debates. Crucible scores, rankings, and usernames appear on the Crucible leaderboard. Winner usernames may be featured on the homepage and in promotional materials.
Your account data and content are retained as long as your account is active. Rate-limiting records are automatically deleted after 24 hours. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please contact us at hello@calibrank.com.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. PostHog may set analytics cookies if you have an account. We do not use advertising cookies.
